The Making of a Campground

Dedication to Don and Alice Winship

1994 - 2021

Don had been the official park manager since the park opened for business in 1994. Don retired in the Spring of 2021.

However, his dedication to the park began long before it was open for customers.

The Campus RV Park began as a church campground for the Community of Christ church. In 1994, the park officially evolved into a business that continues to serve those traveling from all around the World.

It was Don’s thoughtful planning and contribution that brought blueprints to life. While Don was the park manager, he was also the park “pastor,” offering ministry when possible. Don was known as the man in the neon yellow shirt if you had any questions or if you wanted to hear a good joke. Don was sure to make you smile during your stay.

Don and Alice Winship had their fair share of experience in an RV! They traveled full-time for many years. While Alice is no longer with us, she also contributed to the ministry of the park, making it a place were everyone felt welcome and “at home.” She is and always will be missed.

Neighboring the park is the Community of Christ Temple and Auditorium, which are within walking distance.
